Adrienne joined BB at Liberty Village in 2012 after her second baby was born, and she is such a fixture in our west-end classes that we just can’t imagine running them without her. Thankfully, her academic schedule allows her to stay enrolled at BB & working hard on her already very fit body. We think Adrienne is now equal parts brain and brawn… except that anyone who can tolerate us for almost 2 years must be a little bit crazy. Thanks, Adrienne!

What brought you to BB? How long did you train?

I’ve been training for about a year and a half, twice a week for most of that time. I was looking for something to do with baby #2 that was also enjoyable and good for me. I found BB through a Meetup group.

What results have you experienced?

I’m so much stronger and more energetic now. And I’m fitter than I’ve been in a very long time.

How do you stay active outside of BB?

Just general active life stuff: walking instead of driving when we can, playing outside with the kids, swimming, etc. (Does wrestling smallies into winter clothes count too?) It definitely counts, Adrienne, in a winter as cold and long as this…

What is your #1 fitness goal now?

Working effectively in the areas that are hardest for me. Strength work has always been easier for me because I’m built like a truck (thanks dad!). Endurance and flexibility, not so much.

Fave healthy food?

Green vegetables of all kinds. Spinach, fennel, seaweed, avocado, kale, whatever.

Fave BB exercise?

Hill sprints during the spring and summer at Trinity Bellwoods and High Park. It’s the best of BB: we egg each other on in a supportive way!

Exercise you want to punch in the face?

High knees, no question. I am SO BAD at these.

Last splurge food or drink?

Holiday foods (and there’s still a month to go!!). **Adrienne submitted her MOTW questionnaire in November 😉 I’ve already eaten too many of my mother in law’s latkes, and I wait all year for panettone (Italian Christmas bread/cake), which I could eat every day for a month.

You in 5 words. Go!

Curious. Conscientious. Sensitive. Nerdy. Crafty.
