Dara Duff-Bergeron, B.A.   Founder/Certified Personal Trainer/Certified Pre- & Postnatal Fitness Specialist

Dara Duff-Bergeron is one of Toronto’s most well-known personal trainers and women’s fitness experts.  She is certified by the American Council on Exercise and the Canadian Association of Fitness Professionals and holds a B.A. Hons. from the University of Toronto.  In addition to several years training clients in their homes, Dara has trained in small studios, large fitness clubs, medical clinics and everything in between. Dara’s experience working with clients’ disparate resources and facilities, combined with her natural ingenuity, have allowed her to develop a unique style of training that adapts to every combination of space, time and equipment.  Fat loss, strength training, core development and women’s prenatal & postnatal fitness are just a few of her specialties.

Dara knows the importance of customer service to her position as trainer and has built a reputation for reliability and success. Dara uses her position as mentor and teacher to help women craft a balance between their fitness potential and the other demands on their time. She is also a regular contributor to various local, national and international parenting sites and has appeared variously online, in print and on TV. Dara is mommy to one exuberant toddler and one kindergartner, and lives in downtown Toronto with her own little  fit family.

Laura Wood, Certified Personal Trainer/Certified Yoga Instructor/Certified Pilates Mat Instructor

Laura began her journey in the fitness and health industry as a personal trainer and fitness instructor in 2004. Her passion for working with women in the pre and post partum period drew Laura to explore yoga as a way to support clients through this time of both physical and emotional change.  After completing her yoga instructor training and pre/postnatal yoga training, Laura began to train and work as a doula (CAPPA) to support women through the entire childbearing and postpartum experience. Since the birth of her own son, Gabriel, Laura has expanded her expertise to include Pilates Mat training. Laura now hopes to help new moms find a sense of strength, empowerment, and community  through her fun and effective classes.

Cheryl Willigan, Certified Personal Trainer/Certified Pre- & Postnatal Fitness Specialist/Running Coach

Cheryl has an adventurous and diverse fitness background.  She began her personal training education and experience in the United Kingdom, trained to become a yoga instructor at the Downward Dog yoga training program, obtained her Pre/Postnatal Fitness Specialist certification, and went on to lead running groups and manage a Running Room location.  Cheryl’s husband first introduced her to running and, since meeting him, Cheryl has run 1 marathon and 12 half marathons.  Cheryl is passionate about the evolving world of fitness and – most importantly – incorporating her baby boy, Kirk, into her fit lifestyle.

 

 

 

 

Arianna_McWhirter

Arianna McWhirter, B.A., Certified Personal Trainer/Certified Pre- & Postnatal Specialist

Arianna McWhirter began her career in fitness in 2001 as a fitness instructor at YMCA Toronto after arriving from her native Colombia, where body image and healthfulness were a part of her culture and upbringing. Arianna now holds several certifications, as a Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition and Wellness Specialist, and Prenatal/Postnatal Specialist. After finding herself 30 pounds overweight in postpartum, Arianna decided to challenge herself and placed 7th overall in the U.F.E. Bikini Model division. Arianna is living proof that motherhood is a great time to get in the best shape of your life. Arianna was a part of the Belly Bootcamp team after her first child, and returns to the team now as a mommy of two beautiful kids, to train Belly Bootcamp mommies privately at home as well as kick butt at various Belly Bootcamp locations.

 

 

 

Oonagh Duncan, M.A., Certified Personal Trainer/Certified Pre- and Postnatal Specialist

Oonagh has been working in the fitness industry for over a decade and is a Pro Trainer for the Canadian Association for Fitness Professionals, teaching Personal Training and CPR. She is a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor with additional certifications in Yoga, Zumba, Pre and Postnatal fitness and Les Mills’ RPM and BodyPump.  She is a Master Trainer for the GROOVE Method and co-authored the manual for the Pre and Post Natal GROOVE Certification. Oonagh has been profiled in Glow and Toronto Life magazines for her exceptional training.  She also has an MA in Acting from the East 15 Acting School in London and has written internationally-produced documentary plays. Oonagh is an all-around creative type whose classes are imaginative and fun! When she’s not teaching awesome Belly Bootcamp classes, Oonagh hangs out with her awesome toddler, Felix and newborn, Otis.

 

 

Barb Davis, B. Sc., Certified Personal Trainer

Barb is a lifelong athlete and is certified by the Canadian Association of Fitness Professionals.   She holds a BSCH in Life Sciences from Queen’s University, where she was a valuable member of the varsity Waterpolo Team.   In addition to teaching fantastic and fun Belly Bootcamp classes, Barb works as a Respiratory Therapist at Mount Sinai Hospital.  Barb has an extensive knowledge of the body and how it works; combine this with years of competitive team sport and a fun, positive attitude and you get quite the trainer. Barb has two young, energetic boys and was herself a participant in Belly Bootcamp after each pregnancy, which rekindled her love of fitness and inspired her to return to athletics as a personal trainer.  She understands the challenges of improving one’s fitness after baby, and brings her own experience to bear when working with clients and Belly Bootcampers.
